What this Project is all about

This website is part of a project for a class at Loyola Marymount University called "Digital Borderlands: This Bridge call Cyberspace." For this project I hope to help my community grow, not physically, but communally.

Have you ever typed in Bell Gardens, CA, in a search engine and have only a few results come up? I hope to give people more information and perspective of the city of Bell Gardens.

I will share my experiences in relation to the city of Bell Gardens, as well tell the stories of my family that have lived in Bell Gardens for many years and who have made me the person I am today. I plan on adding videos, text, and photos to document my own understanding of the city.

People have their own stories and memories of thier life in Bell Gardens. I want to share those stories to the community and others who may want to start thier own websites about thier community and others who may want to start thier own websites about thier community.

This website is not meant to be an ending project. I want this project to continue for many years for the community to share with famiy, friends, and beyond as the years pass.

What you can do

Document Your History

Every person has their own experience in Bell Gardens. I have many memories playing outside and having the time of my life. Others who I have talked to say, "Isn't Bell Gardens a dangerous area?" I always reply with, "There is danger everywhere." Let's show people that Bell Gardens is a place of community, friendship, memories, and solidarity.

Not every person lived in the same house, or street. Tell us about your street, friends, family, school. This is the real history. A history that should never be forgotten.

If you would like me to create a page about your family and experiences within the city, to show your own understanding of the community, please send your text, photos, videos, and/or other ideas to bellgardensconnect@yahoo.com. If you would like to ask me a question before you send me any information, you may contact me first with your inquiry.
