About Me: Nicole
I am a student at Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, CA. My majors in school are Liberal Studies, or Elementary Education, and Chicano Studies. I have had a strong connection to the Bell Gardens community since I was born. I attended Bell Gardens Christian School until second grade and moved over to Cesar Chavez Elementary School for another year. I eventually moved back to Bell Gardens for my College academic career and although I have not lived in the city my entire life, I will still always find a place for the community in my heart.
In my efforts to help the community, I am a co-founder of a non-profit organization, Discovery Tools. The organization's goals are to provide innovative technological tools to schools that do not have funds. We provide SMART boards, computers, interactive computer software, among many other technologies. Being so closely connected to Bell Gardens, by have many family members still living in the community with me, I plan on having my organization involved with the Bell Gardens schools in the future.
I see myself having a career in teaching, a family, a dog grooming business, published children's books, a successful non-profit organization, a successful community website, and a Master's Degree in 10 years.
